They say you should dream all your dreams and make them come true, well this little dreamer is making hers a huge reality and sharing her gift with the rest of the world.  Beth Rowley’s album “Little Dreamer” is exceptional, it is like a flower, delicate, soft and each petal is a perfectly formed, beautiful song. Superbly stunning this album is a masterpiece showing the songwriting skills and vocal abilities of one of the UKs hottest artists to shine through in 2008. This rising star deserves to be flying high in the charts and will be an artist around for a long time, with her feet firmly on the ground and her head floating in the music, Beth brings an innocence and magical vibe with her music.

The first single to be released from this album was “So Sublime” which Beth describes as a summery song! Beth Rowley interview with Sasha Reid

Tell me about your single “So Sublime”?
I
wrote this song with Rod Bowkett who I met towards the end of last year, it took about a year give or take to record the album and I wrote with a few different people and this song was something summery and a little bit fun. The meaning is me reminiscing about that feeling when you are younger and the sun is shining.

Where was the video for the song filmed?
We went to Portugal, my sister lives there and she helped us organise it, it was pretty bad weather when we went but we still managed to make it look good, if you look closely you can see it chucking it down with rain, it was good fun!

Which are your favourite tracks from your new album?
I think “Only One Cloud” is one of my favourite ones to listen to, that one pretty much sums up what I do pretty well, “Almost Persuaded” is another one. We were thinking of recording that one live as it is my favourite song to do live and it was quite tricky to cut to that in the studio so the version on the album is a lot more low key than it is live but those two are my all time favourites

You have been preparing for the release of your new album, how has that been?
It has been pretty full on, its good because its really nice that people are interested, but of course you can never tell as you make music for yourself! Its good how it has been received so far, there has been quite a bit of radio work and press, it is tiring but good fun!

Why did you choose the name “Little Dreamer” for your album title?
I think mainly because it’s the best way to sum me up, I’m at my happiest when I’m just staring, disappearing into my own world, it can be a lot more exciting, you can make things up!

How do you feel when you hear your songs on the radio?
Its pretty strange for the first few times you hear it, my family have my record and they would play it all the time when I went round , it feels like someone is just playing the cd in the car, its pretty cool.

How do you write your songs?
I let it happen naturally because I don’t find it easy to sit down and write a song, it comes a lot from poetry. I really love creating writing of some sort, the songs come afterwards. I used to really resent having to squeeze my thoughts into songs because then you have to lob bits off, lose bits and I didn’t like having to change it but there is an art to it and it can be done without losing anything, you have to be patient and have perseverance.
