The wistful images on the walls look finished. The lavender changing room curtains with their lacy bows are just as I remember them, and the stairs to nowhere still stand as the shop’s centrepiece. The place no longer smells of fresh paint – LADY has matured from the little girl it was.

Fashions these days are clearly derived from those which (or whom) have come before. The contemporary high waist hails the elegant wide-legs of the 1050’s, bell-bottomed 70’s, and stovepiped 80’s. Doc Martins popularity claims origins in the British punk scene.

The good news is finally everyone has recognised only black can be the ‘new black’. The bad news is that people who revel in looking as though they live in bins are still allowed to fashionise accordingly.

Runway 5 on Wednesday the 5th March witnessed NOM*d revisit Ksubi’s grungy look of 2007 using greys, blacks, ripped-up and layered garments, and steel-buckled boots. Cose Ipanema followed suit with torn skirts, similarly dark threads and aesthetically baffling head netting.

Fashionistas flocked by the masses like an army of style police, lining the sidewalk of Oxford Street to get a glimpse of the dirty little secret inside.  This fashion frenzy was the celebration of up-and-coming designers debuting their threads to their fashion peeps at the Dirty Little Secrets Fashion Show at Good Bar.
